Linn County Parks & Recreation
While working with the team at Limelight Department, an online advertising agency, I was able to design the website for Linn County Parks and Recreation. The goal was to highlight some of the counties incredible landscapes. The county is rich in forests, rivers, mountains and valleys. I wanted to create an appeal that encouraged family members of all ages to come together and enjoy the great outdoors!
The client supplied us with beautiful photography to use. The layout of the homepage happened naturally. Photographs of the land combined with iconic animal silhouettes that live in the area, where laid over each other and set with descriptive words in a bold typeface. The result created a sense of wonder and excitement to explore the outdoors. I also added the quick links at the bottom of the screen to make it easier for users to find the main features of the site.
We wanted the site to have features that made it possible to search the counties public sites. So a google map was integrated that made a list that was visible on the map for users to click directly on.
